Default Let me get this over with...

I was bad. I fell (or jumped) off the wagon and rolled down the hill. I also couldn't get on the computer for a few days, it took an unauthorized vacation. Had to call the cable company and have them "re-initialize" it, whatever that means. Basically, too many goodies that I ONLY get this time of year. And one it's really hard for me to throw away, as it takes a month to make it. I don't have any idea how many calories are in it. Beaucoup sugar, that's a certainty. It's brandied fruit cake, aka Friendship Cake because you get the "starter" from a friend who's made it. Though I found a recipe for it. But, it involves a lot of sugar every time you make it, (and a can of peaches with juice, pineapple with juice and marachino cherries with juice) and then you re-use 1½ cups for the next two cakes and add sugar again..(giving the remainder, usually 2 cups, to friends) I unfortunately adore this cake. I'm afraid I did justify it to myself that I only get it this time of year. And it's true, I never make it any other time of the year. (It's too good). I also had some fruit stuff I make, but I need to calculate the calories, it may not be too bad. It's made with whipping cream and sour cream. I felt like I needed to go ahead and post this, and climb back up the hill and track down that wagon!

Talking Thanks guys...

You made me laugh. Which we all need.
I've put a sign on top the fruitcake. It says

"Don't WAIST it, LEAVE it on the plate".

(In those colors)

Plus the computer is up and I can come here when I'm tempted...

Occasionally, I break the diet but don't suffer any conscience about it; what matters is that 90% of the time I am on the diet and after 15 months I am able to control my weight in a way that I have never been able to do before. Surely it is not a question of total commitment but rather one of maximum effort. Life can be too complex for constant self-flagellation.

What you need is not 3 Hail Mary's for breaking the diet but rather a 'smacked botty' for feeeling guilty! You naughty girl!
