Default Atkins Bars in Coles

I was surprised last night when I went to Coles and found they carry Atkins Bars.

They were on special for $4 each ( still expensive).

I bought a Hazenut Crunch one. Very Nice

Hi there, i just tried the advantage bars yesterday too like the hazelnut one, had one of the berry ones today but didnt care much for it at all. My fav so far would have to be the chocolate chip morning shine bars. One thing i refuse to do without on this WOL is muesli bars of some description.

If u are feeling brave, the premade shakes are ok too, I originally bought a cannister of the chocolate and i didnt like it at all, but have bought a whole heap of premade ones that were on special last week for $1.48 each. Bargain Queen that I am

Wow tigger,
Pre-Made shakes ~ $1.48 IS a bargin.
I don`t want to survive on this stuff, so I wont bulk buy it. (some people experience weight loss stalls on Products). At least if the TOM cravings get too strong, I know where I can get a Choc Bar.

loosenit> I agree, it is best if u can to do this wol on real foods and stay away from ready made foods. I am one of the fortunate ones, who isnt affected weight wise by these types of foods. It makes my life a lot easier if i have these ready made items as if i didnt i would be looking at the other ready made items in my cupboard and invariably end up cheating.

Nice to see this thread happening, when nobody was replaying to me in this one:

Also Safeway (Woolworths in Victoria) carry the bars as well.

My favourite is the chocolate decadence!

Sorry LC Dave ,
I have only been back Low Carbing since Sat, and didn`t see your previous thread regarding Atkins Bars at Coles. I thought it was something New, as I haven`t seen them before. The Safeway stores near me do not stock them. They have Sweet William, or something like that, for 4 carbs.

Now I`ll have to look out for Creamy Ranch Dressing. Love Mushrooms

tigger Good to hear products don`t have an impact on your weight loss........ sometimes they can make life easier when on the run.

Oh, oh you really have to try Empower's low carb chocolate. It's waaaaaay better IMO. A bit more at around $4.30-5.20 per block but it's a chocolate block like the small ones Cadbury make, not like a snack bar. Has the texture of Lindt and you wouldn't tell the difference if you didn't know. At health food shops, I keep a block in a drawer for my TOM where I eat it slowly over the week. (1g carbs per line - 4 blocks).

Five years of living with boys and I can personally swear that boys DO have TOMs! They just don't do all the physical gunky stuff. They def have the mood swings and they happen roughly monthly. One guy I lived with for three years I could actually pinpoint when his time was - timed it against my own.

And about the diarroeha (man, I'll never be able to spell that word right) I get that from too many sugar alcohols too. Which is pretty much only when I make up a small serving of Bawdy's Cheesecake (recipe on this forum) and that Carb Smart icecream by Peters (I think). I get the runs that night, without fail.

A whole week is pretty bad. Do you know which sweetener they use? Carb Smart uses aspartame I believe. Empower (mentioned earlier and repeated in another post - sorry! totally forgot) use Maltitol or something like that. I think saccharine or stevia are my fav. Don't really like aspartame or splenda.

You?
