Hi there!
Does anybody knows a Lowcarb store arround Townsville area?
I started Kimkins 8 days ago and ketostiks shows a deep purple colour, very close to the highest mark and I am a little bit concerned. I am thinking to give up am go back on Atkins.
What do you, guys, reckon? Could be dangerous a high level of ketones? Curently I am eating under 15g of carbs and under 500cal dayly.
Any advice will be highly appreciated.
C us latter.

Hi, I'm no expert but I'd say that under 500 calories was way too low and you'll probably end up in 'starvation mode' and stall on weight loss.

I agree with Janine, I wouldn't go as low as 500cals. Most people round here recommend 2000cals per day if going low carb.

Your body is a temple, treat it well

If you've put on weight over several years, allowing several years to lose it is the way to go - mentally too. Very important

Hey Gilly, how long you been lc'ing?

Default queenslander here

Hi Dave,

I am new to this forum, I have crohns disease, and I have been reading the Bokk Life without Bread, and feel that a low carbohydrate diet is worth trying........

Cheers,

starwoman

Hi Starwoman, with you on that one! If we don't get any responses to our request for a weekly plan, maybe we could work together to produce our own

Hey starwoman, welcome to the forum! Low carb is definitely worth trying, there are quite a few people here with crohns plus others (like me) who don't have crohns but have found that our bodies are much much happier grain free anyway.

Just a couple of things: you might want to post a hello message in the main Introductions forum, you'll get lots of replies there. It's a bit quiet down here in the Aussie forum since we're all busy posting in other forums and usually only stop in here if we have a question about buying certain foods in Oz.

Also, if you do plan to post in the main forums, you might want to convert your weight to pounds to avoid confusing the Americans who will probably freak out and say stupid things, figuring that you only weight 65 pounds.

I use this conversion site a lot for weights and also for measurements for recipes and kilojoules to calories.

65 kgs = 143 pounds
68 kgs = 150 pounds

Best of luck with low carbing, it should help you a lot!

Default I am not here to lose weight

I am here becasue I have crohns disease and apparently carbohydrates feed the bad bacteria that cause crohns, however I do miss my bread.

Cheers,

starwoman
