Default NOW! magazine

Well goodness gracious me!!!
has anyone seen this weeks issue of NOW! magazine? - a FRONT PAGE (!) booklet ALL about atkins and WAIT FOR IT!!!!!!!........."HOW GOOD IT IS"!!!!!!!!
Really well put together, theres a section on all the celebrities doing it, loads of voxpops all saying how it worked for them, recipes and (the best bit!) a double page shooting down all those (well worn) myths that lets face it are becoming an everyday thing in the media! - isnt that great?!
WELL DONE NOW! MAGAZINE!!!!!

Ax

P.S theres also an amusing article inside the actual magazine - about how atkins is the first diet ever that a man has actually ADMITTED to being on!! - up yours wussy weight watchers!!!!

P.P.S it's in HEAT magazine too! - on pg 3 (inside front cover!) which is the famous "everyone's talking about"... page!!!! - how cool is that!?

It would be good to see this in some American magazines also ~ hopefully the time will come when Dr. Atkins is given the credit he is due.

Thanks for telling us about this!

Good news indeed! Almost makes me wish I'd responded to that bit asking for a vegetarian low carber... (I said almost!)

But that's excellent they're actually starting to write something intelligent on the subject... especially when its going to such a wide readership.

Three cheers for Now magazine! Thanks for letting us know Ax.

Thumbs up Well Done !

Hi folks,

While in Asda l picked up a copy, couldnt miss it as they were at every checkout.

l think NOW mag have done a good job. Once passed the Celebs bit there was a good " Busting the Myths " section followed by a section of the public saying how its been good for them.

The " Recipes for Success " bit had some nice looking ideas, however while they said how many Cals & Fat were in a portion they missed out the carbs. But as all the recipes came from the " Atkins for Life " book l think l'll get a copy, as cooking for one my meals are getting a bit samey.

The last section was a Carb Counter.

Anyway well dun NOW, lets hope this is the first of many more positive reviews.

Steve

Hi Adrix,

l dont miss the pies too much, but l do like their puddings.

l have to keep the car window shut as l drive past on my way home, its worst when l go for my 2 mile evening walk up the hill and back, l pass it twice and the Steak & Kidney does smell good.

Just for the record the turnaround point is a chinese take away ( no l don't go in ).

Default Good for NOW!

Thanks for alerting me to this - don't usually buy magazines. But I bought this one and thought their Atkins booklet not at all bad. I sent them an email to say thanks and well done for doing some sensible reporting instead of inaccurate scaremongering. Lets hope there is more positive media and the tide turns and the range of low carb food improves.

That's actually a very good suggestion... perhaps we should be taking the time to write in and thank them? A little positive reinforcement that their decision not to go with the flow and publish the same old scaremongering was a good, helpful and appreciated path to take?
