Lightbulb 5 Weeks Pregnant! SB phase 2??

HI guys...

Found out i´m pregnant this morning! can´t believe it after i just got started on south beach... still i read i can still do SB diet safely if i stick to phase 2 ??? any thoughts would be gratefully recieved...

this is my first pregnancy and i´m only 5 weeks (very early i know) but i want to get started on the right foot!!

i´m a little numb and disorientated at the mo... all to do with nerves and nothing to do with the pregnancy i think!!!

You should be fine with what you do. The baby need fats and proteins to grow, you might find first trimester you need a bit more carb to keep down nausea, but don't fret about it. Do the best you can. I had a very healthy baby last year lc, and I'm expecting another one, so far so good.
Congratulations and good luck

Congratulations!

I am not very familiar with SB and its various stages. Just don't be in any stage of any diet that is intended for you to lose weight. It's time to start maintaining and soon gaining!

TSP, is different, she did have a patient in the first book that was on her plan and did great in the pregnancy. I ate between 90 and 120 gm of carb with my last pregnancy and did fine, that is about her high end for someone with IR and active, I'm not doing as well this pregnancy. I had to eat 7gm for breakfast, and the rest of the 15 to 20 was about it because of Gestational diabetes. Remember her plan is about healing the body, NOT weight loss. I lost weight pregnant with no problems.
