There are a few of us in the Carolinas...I'm in Western NC (you know, the part that's been talking about seceeding from the rest of the state?).

My goal weight is 155 -- I'm at 169 right now. Looking forward to getting there, but these last several pounds have gone SLOWLY. Of course, that's to be expected as one gets closer to goal. But I have no plans to eat in any other way, so I'm just living life and I'll get there when I get there!

Good to "meet" you. Stop by my journal any time for a visit.

It's nice to know there are a few western NC people on here. I'm from Hendersonville but now live in Stanley area north of Charlotte. This is a wonderful place to live. My husband and I go back home about every weekend. He is doing atkins to and has lost 30lbs. Tiffany my husbands daughter moved in with us in dec and weighed 292 is now at 259 she is so much happier with her self, I cant believe the change is her . It makes me so happy that I could help her with her weight. I know we will all reach our goals and be a healthier happier family for it..I feel great!!
So where are you from in NC..I love the mountians , When im in the mountains I feel home.

I have been doing low carbing, and on induction, since Jan 2002. Been through mid-life crisis and back -- so if I can be of help to any of you -- please don't hesitate to ask.

I do induction because I feel much better than when i eat carbs. I am heavy on supplements, but am cutting back on those now that my health is much better.

I live in Raleigh, but travel all over the state on business.

Hey, I'm near Lake Norman. Things are not too bad. Trying to get back on plan. Just ate about 12,434,534,647 eggs.

*burp*

'scuze me.
Indian Trail sounds a lot better than NW Charlotte. I got my keys stolen at a basketball court there once (with my wedding ring on it)

Damn NW Charlotte!

Hey, looks like you are about to break 200. Cool. It took me sooo long to do that. Was a great feeling.

LMAO!! I can't even look at a egg right now. I never cared for them much to begin with.

Indian Trail IS a lot better than NW Charlotte. I can't help but wonder what maddness drove me to actually buy a house on that side of the city <points to evil, deranged twin and glares> Actually, the neighborhood I bought into back in the 90's was nice...quiet...mostly older couples. Then about 3 years ago the gangs moved in and I moved out. I lost count of how many times I was broken into, or had vandalizm done. When they started moving in I had to get my son out of there before he got caught up in it all, so moved before I was able to sell my house and the gangs (and a few homeless people) went crazy destroying the empty home.

Lake Norman is a beautiful area ! The most I have seen of it though is what is visable from I-77 as I passed through to places north. Do you live right on the lake?

How long did it take you to break into onederland? It feels like I have been stuck here forever and truthfully I haven't really applied myself to get past it. I'm sort of "tired" of trying right now. I want to get past it but I just don't seem to break free from the apathy right now. I know I WILL get there eventually and as long as I don't start gaining I am happy....for now I know I am going to have to do something drastic soon to get the ball rolling again.

You have made great progress...when did you begin your journey?

onederland. Ha, I hadn't heard that term in a while. I could get to 205 without Atkins. That was the best I could do. Once on Atkins I flew by it pretty quickly. Went from 210 to 195 pretty darn quickly....maybe a month? That was when I was really strict about it and exercising like a maniac. Think I started Atkins...oh...2 and a half years ago... or, yanno I think it has been 3 and half years.

Geez, NW Charlotte sounds worse than I thought. Man that sux.

We're not on the water but close. The neighborhood is, but not our house.

Hello everyone! I think I posted on this thread many moons ago but never came back. Why? I dont know? Wolve, I am in Mooresville so howdy neighbor! Hi Rain! We have corresponded a little before. I know what you mean about being tired of trying. I was that way from the end of June until about 3 weeks ago. I decided to do the M/E fast and it really jump started me after my lazy summer. The first 2 days were murder but after that the pounds started dropping and I am feeling great! Have a good day all! Off to do laundry and clean house!
