Hi everyone!

I have been on this site for about a week now, and I just stumbled across this students/teens section. I see that the last post was over a year ago, so I figured I would post one now so that maybe some of us can talk!

I am a college student. I actually took this semester off, but I will be heading back next semester and plan to live a low carb lifestyle while I'm there (and for the rest of my life.) I have to admit, I'm a little scared to take this low carb eating plan with me. Cookies, late night pizza, chinese, alcohol - all "staples" of my diet with my skinny friends since I have been at school. I started my weight gain in high school, but when I got to college, it really sky rocketed. The temptation is going to be crazy, but I'm just going to have to stay strong and remember that the crappy food is not worth my self confidence and my happiness.

I don't know about all of you, but I feel like I have missed out on a lot of things thus far in college because I just haven't felt good about my body! When you don't feel good about the way you look and lack confidence, it can affect every aspect of your life. I feel that for a long time, I've been just simply existing, but not really living. It's time to change my life for the better. As of right now, I have been on induction for 9 days, and I have lost 9 pounds, which feels GREAT! I already feel so much better, and I want to keep this going. I ALWAYS start diets and stop them, but I refuse to do that this time. I am going to see this through! I listed my goal weight as 140, but I may want to keep going from there. It just depends on how I feel.

If anyone else is doing this as a college student right now, I would love to hear from you! We can talk and offer each other support! Best wishes!
