Default Sweet Taste

I have been on Atkins/Induction for 38 days, consuming approximately 7-10 net carbs per day. I have noticed over the last few weeks an extreme sweet taste constantly in my mouth. Over the last week it has been so strong that it makes me a little nauseated. Is this common? Should I be concerned? I becoming a little worried.

My H noticed this in the first 2 weeks he partook in a LCHF regime.
His THEORY (note, I have no proof of this!) is that it's all his previous addiction to carbs and sugars that is causing a mind-set of a sweet taste.

He's given up sugary foods for good. His mind is saying "Nooooo!! Have some more, go on! You know you want to!"

For him, it passed after around 16 - 18 days.

If his theory is correct, you should be getting past this very soon.

If it's been going on so long, and hasn't dissipated, perhaps it's time for a check with a doctor or nutritionist....

This likely could be the taste one gets from being in ketosis. If it is, this is a good sign. I used to notice it mostly in the morning or during a period of intermittent fasting (IF). Over time, it will dissipate and you'll not notice it unless you fast or have a longer time period between meals. Not to worry, it's all good!

Yes, some people get a cloying taste with ketosis. When I get keto breath, I brush my teeth a lot!
