If you're like me, you may need many forms of activity/exercise to keep you motivated and interested.

I'm going to Step It Up and start walking 3 days a week at least at the park.
I'll use my Pedometer to keep track of steps/distance/calories burned/etc.

I need to be held accountable here or I won't stick w/it long.

~Feel Free To Join In At Any Time!~

Just list the days you're going to stick with, and then post your results.

The KEY is to stick with it and even try to beat your previous steps/calories burned which of course means you get better at it and do it for longer.

If ya don't..No Biggie..Still got out/Was active/Burned some calories/Got your heart pumpin'/and so much more.

We can check in as often as we like to support each other & share.

Recap:

Pick the 3 days you want to Step It Up and stick w/it.
{Of course walk more if ya want!}

Make sure to check in here to post your results.

Check in often to support others and to receive support.

Let's ##Step It Up!##

My ZuZu will be thrilled about this!

She loves the park!

Found my pedometer and directions..

I was scared I had lost it.

It was only $10 at Wal*Mart.

I like it a lot bc it shows how many calories you've burned, and it talks!

I'm ready for Monday.

Hi Stacy, I'LL JOIN YA!!

I walked 25 min last night. I don't have a pedometer yet, but will get one.

I am going to choose M/W/Th/& 1 weekend day (heck, I may do all week once I get going!)

I have lots of house work to do, so I am going to spend 1 1/2 hours on that. May do pilates later and walk again tonight.

how is this for promptness...my hubby was in town today so I called him and he picked me up the pedometer for 12.96 at walmart. So, i may walk tonight after all. I was in the middle of bleaching my countertops and thought I would take a break and tell you about the meter. later

Oh, do you listen to music while you walk? I listen to Toby Mac. I love it, very upbeat and gets my booty moving fast!

Good For You!

What a sweet hubby!

I don't listen to music bc I talk with ZuZu as we're walkin'..lol

I treat her like a kid.

Did 1 ml today/to & from park! 98 cals burned..{seemed like it should have been more? My pedometer may need new batteries! I'll replace them before next walk!}

Man, took a different path to the park and ended up going up a huge hill and boy were my legs screamin' and I was gaspin' for air! LMBO!

Then, comin' back we had to get up another hill and then it was down hill the rest of the way home which means we were now running bc ZuZu thought this was just too much fun.

I thought I was gonna die.

Came in flushed, sweatin' and out of breath.

Hubby had ta wait for me to chill before I could talk..Big lol.

Boy, I feel it in my legs!

I will keep going that way bc it'll get easier each week and then I'll know for sure I'm gettin' my bootie in shape!

I can't wait to reach the day I'm not out of breath and gasping for air. HeeHee.

Good for you!! You will think this is hilarious, but when I walk, I have to walk my drive way. We live on a dangerous road with no shoulder, so it is not an option. I live on 4 acres and would walk the perimeter, but I injured my ankle in Sept. so I am leery of the terrain. I have a long paved driveway, so it suits me just fine. I just have to listen to music to take my mind off the monotony of it. Your ZuZu is cute!

I am glad I joined! It is great doing this with a buddy. At least I know I am not struggling alone. We will also have victory together!

Can't believe I get to be the first one to join! I hate you were all alone in here with the 'crickets' lol

Ok Stacy, I walked tonight and I don't think the pedometer is right. We walked for 33 minutes, which for me, is usually is about 2 miles. According to the pedometer, I walked 4046 steps, 3.83 miles and burned only 58 calories. ??? The only thing that I think is correct is the time. Do you have this problem with yours?

I guess it really doesnt matter, what matters is that I walked! 2 nights in a row. Plus I did some serious cleaning on my house. I plan to do the same tomorrow, but I may not walk..hubby will not be home, I hate to go out alone. I will do pilates instead.

See ya tomorrow!

I guess we need to find out some way!

Wonder if we could find out via on-line re: how long you walk time wise = the amount of ml/calories burned?

I don't want to have small amounts if they are supposed to be bigger!!

And vice versa.

I'll also make a phone call RE: pedometer.

Anyhow, for now we are walkin', burning calories, and bein' good girl's!

So PROUD of ya!

Keep it up!

I didn't do pilates since I'm pooped out/sore from the mountain climbing.

I'll do pilates tomorrow and walk the mountain again Wed.

Glad you have a long driveway for walkin'.

How far away is a park from you guys?

Y'all may enjoy going there sometimes for the change/scenery.

I'll have ta take a pic of our park. Just love it!

Has a beautiful huge pond with tons of ducks/birds/trees etc.

The trails are fun to walk.

ZuZu is such a Ms. Priss so she prances around like Queen of the Nile.

The buddy system will work for us!

Girls, you may want to check and see if your ped came with instructions as to how to CALIBRATE it to YOUR steps...

Took me a while to figure this out with my ped, but now we're rockin'!

Great goin', by the way!

oooowwwww, I am sooo sore! I am NOT walking tonight! I will do pilates. (which is what I had already planned on doing.) OMG, every muscle in my body aches! I may should have skipped last night since I am just starting out walking again. I walked in the fall, but quit when it got cold. I am out of shape!...Duh, didn't see that one coming!

Its early, I just cooked hubby breakfast and fixed his lunch..he is out the door to work. I think I will go back to bed for a bit. I have a big day and need a little more rest. Plus, I got up with a headache..(lack of sleep maybe?)

Thanks Sherry for the advice, I did calabrate the pedometer..after I walked, so not sure if it is accurate. It didn't change the stats. Will try again next time. Not going to fret too much.

See ya later!!

Sherry: Hubby is pickin' me up a new one and we will make sure to do that!

Once new batteries were in, it freaked out and made these wierd noises..lol I found it in the junk drawer a few days ago and I think it got knocked around too much..lol

He's runnin' errands and will pick up one on his way home.

~~

Sorry your sore honeysgurl! So am I! lol

That's good for us though! Means we did something good yesterday!

I'll do my pilates in just a bit.

Everyone!
