Default Veggies?

New to forum.

Did Atkins 10 years ago with success but gained weight back (plus 20 lbs) since. Unable to get back into ketosis now that I'm trying the diet again. Completely stumped...

Notice there seems to have been a major change in the Atkins diet in that, if I am not mistaken, it used to be recommended to eat a few carbs as possible during induction. Supplement with vitamins and fiber products.

Current change is to eat around 20 grams per day, with 12 or so coming from veggies.

What is the reasoning behind the change and why should I not go back to the former method (nearly zero carbs)?

Billy, see my reply on your introductory post. I don't know why this changed, but there are those here that follow the original and those that follow the net carb method. I follow the latter and it has been working for me very well. Since I love veggies, it's good. It sounds like you're doing fine using the net carb method, so why not enjoy the greater variety as long as it works? If it stops after several weeks, you can always lower the carbs to see if that helps.
