Default How long does it take for food to show up weight-wise?

Seems like a few years ago, I read somewhere that it takes a few days after you eat for the weight to show up.(e.g. today I eat alot of heavy foods, like steak, and I wont get a true weight reading until 2-3 days later). Does anyone know anything about this? I could be remembering wrong.

If you're doing Atkins, eating steak is not a threat to your weight. However, I think I know what you mean.

Of course it's not a good idea to weigh yourself right after you eat because everything is still in there, undigested. It's best to weigh yourself on an empty stomach and bladder, the same time of day in the same place, with no clothes on so you can gauge accurately. There will be slight water weight fluctuations. That's normal. I weigh myself right after I wake up each morning.

This is one thing I like about eating a monotonous (not uninteresting, just the same meals every day) diet when I'm losing weight, the more consistent I am day to day, the more consistent weight loss seems to be. Which is to say, not all that consistent, but more than if my diet's all over the place.

I went through a phase of weighing before and after because I wanted to see how much the food itself weighed. Did so with water, too. It was an interesting (to me) experiment. It helps me when I dont have a downward weight loss.
