Question Quit smoking???

I quit smoking on June 1, and am wondering if my weight loss stall could be from that -- maybe it will take a while for my metabolism to re-adjust. Has anyone else stopped smoking while trying to lose weight? Any advice?

Congradulations. My fiance and I quit smoking in March. I can't believe how much better I feel. Sorry I don't know about the weight loss but I just wanted to congradulate you.

Congrats on your choice to quit smoking.

I quit July 8th, 2000 and started Atkin's April 23rd this year. I didn't want to stress out so I quit smoking first, 6 months later I started the diet.

You do know a stall is 6 weeks or longer without any weight loss right? Stalling out a week here or there doesn't count as a stall, more of a body readjusting.

How long have you been stalled?

I have been stalled for about 3-1/2 weeks, so maybe there is hope -- it's just that I have had this happen on other diets in the past -- lost a few pounds, then stalled or gained it back in a few weeks or months. Maybe I am being too impatient. Thanks for your support.

Peg, I think you're obsessing. You've been with this WOL for 1 month and 1 day.

In a previous post you said you don't lose weight no matter what. It's not going to fall off overinight. It's a process and the length of time it takes is unique to you and no one else.

Poll any long term low carber and you will see there are many plateaus and stalls and weight bouncing up and down.

I've been with this WOL for two years. I haven't reached my goal yet and it really isn't that important any more. I know it will come and I'm just happy to have found a better way of eating and living.
