Based on the taste of bread and butter pickles, I'd have to guess that a lot of sugar gets into pickled foods. On a positive note, the sugar shouldn't be necessary for preserving the avocados.
I don't see why you couldn't sweeten pickles with artificial sweeteners, but I'd be a little afraid to experiment unless I was confident that it would be okay from a food safety standpoint.
