Default Calling all Canadians...Have your say - proposed changes to the Food Guide (2018)

Your Health Ministry would like input from Canadian citizens on the future direction of health policy.

Why does Canada need a food policy The decisions we make as individuals and as a country about food have a direct impact on our health, environment, economy, and communities. A Food Policy for Canada will set a long-term vision for the health, environmental, social, and economic goals related to food, while identifying actions we can take in the short-term. A food policy is a way to address issues related to the production, processing, distribution, and consumption of food. Learn more by reading the food policy consultation document and have your say!.

Thank you for this info and link! I'll take the survey right away.

edit: There were several places to provide your own comments. I opinionated about changing dietary guidelines to reflect current knowledge regarding sugar, refined flours and processed foods in regards to obesity and disease.

Good to know there were sections for open ended responses.

Good. Somewhere read there is another updated letter from physicians asking for change. Likely this new rebuttal letter here.

And a public petition.

When I googled for this, the second item that came up is a petition and letter for changing the guidelines to a "plant-based" one from a vegan group.
