Question Low Carb Biscuits??

I saw some Low carb Cookie Creams in the Health food store today
On the front it says Net effective Carbs 3 grams Then on the back it says
Carb Facts - Total Carbs 23g
minus fibre - 2g
minus sugar alcohols - 18g
Nett effective Carbs 3g
Includes only those carbs that causes a noted effect on blood sugars

Does this mean its ok to eat these as they only have 3g carb in 3 biscuits
Or is it a con and they really have 23g of carb per 3 biscuits.

Sorry if its a dumb question but Im still learning

Not a dumb question at all, matey.

Unfortunately there is no simple answer. The thing is, the effects of sugar alcohols vary dramatically from person to person. For some people, the effects of sugar alcohols are minimal, while others find they can dramatically increase blood sugars.

Sugar alcohols can also have a most unfortunate effect on our guts. For me, the effects have varied from a severe belly ache, to the most monumental flatulence you've ever not wanted to think about. That was from 1 Cadbury Lite chocolate. My DH may forgive me one day...

If you click here you'll find more info.

Cheers,

Roz

No way of knowing until you try them, unfortunately. As I was trying to explain, some people's blood sugars are affected by them and some aren't. No way of knowing until you try.
Personally I'd prefer to make my own - then you know exactly what's in them.
We like these almond biccies from Low Carb Luxury: http://www.lowcarbluxury.com/recipe...e-cookie02.html

Sorry about the link. You can find the info I was trying to send by going to "Tips" on the green bar at the top of the page, and scroll down until you come to "Sugar Alcohols."
