Do I stiill need to take natural antifungals, like grapefruit seed extract and coconut oil, if I was prescribed fluconazole by my doctor?

Hey Tom,

Here's some info about your question.

Antifungals (Fluconazole/DIFLUCAN, Griseofulvin/GRIFULVIN, Ketoconazole/NIZORAL, Itraconazole/SPORANOX)

FOOD: Take with food to increase absorption. Do not take itraconazole/SPORANOX with grapefruit/related citrus.

ALCOHOL: Avoid drinking alcohol and taking medications that contain alcohol while taking keroconzole and for at least three days after you finish the medication. Alcohol may cause nausea, abdominal cramps, vomiting, headaches, and flushing.

Thanks, KT12. I'll definitely stay away from gse while taking it. I just hope it's okay to take with coconut oil.

I'd take natural anti fungals as well, but I had a diflucan resistant strain of candida, so I'm kinda biased...

Is Diflucan hard on the stomach? I thought I had seen that mentioned but someone else said "no".

Last time I got a yeast infection and had to take Diflucan, I realized that I had not taken coconut oil in a while. I immediately added coconut oil in along with the Diflucan. My thinking was that I would recover that much faster. No problems at all.
