Question Weight increase when changing plans

I weighed 233lbs and am now down to 162 lbs. However this has been done by keeping my carb intake to around 25 carbs per day. I would like to increase my carb amounts - possibly change to a low GI diet, but I am hesitant because I don't know what the initial weight gain would be - if any.

Is there anyone who has had experience of changing - what did you gain and how long did it then take to lose it.

Thank you.

You might want to check into the curves metabolic plan. That is what I plan to do after I reach a size 10. Should be something that helps encourage increased metabolism, stable weight and all without counting carbs. Good luck!

Hey Alex123!

This is a very individual thing and you won't know until you try it. If I go above 30 or so grams of carbs, I immediately stop losing weight. I don't gain weight, but I don't lose. That's how I eneded up back at this weight! Just adding a little, adding a little bit more etc. etc. Now I have to start all over again! So just pay attention to your weight if you change a diet that adds back in more carbs.

You do count carbs on both variations of the curves plan.

I'd think you could expect to carry around 5 or more pounds of just water from increasing your carbs.

I don't think I could cope with going up 5 lbs even if it is only water as the last few lbs have been slow to come off.
