Default Hi All

Hi Gang,

I'm new to this forum. I started low carbing an July 10th. I have cheated twice so far. I figured I could use a support group to help me along the way. My start weight was 218 pounds. So far I lost 11 pounds and have around 44 pounds to go.
It's not very easy for me because my husband and kids only eat junk and its constantly in the house.
I'm trying to decide which is easier for me to do, Atkins or CAD. I want to lose the weight fast and I know that Atkins will allow me to lose quicker than CAD will. Is anybody doing CAD?

Wish me luck?

hello chattykat and welcome! wow! pat yourself on the back for losing 11lbs! congratulations! what program are you using at the moment? i think atkins is probably easier if you have carb issues. i'm a carboholic and i think the cad reward meals would set me of bingeing! i guess you have to try both and just see what fits YOU best!

Welcome to the forum C-kat!

There are a couple of CAD'ers around here. Even with the CAD reward meal, you can't eat junk. Read both books and decide what will best fit into your lifestyle.

If I were you, I'd throw all the junk out of the house and put my foot down. Teach your children good eating habits now, so they will never have to worry about weight problems or heart disease as they get older.

Don't expect super rapid weight loss from either program or you will be setting yourself up for disappointment. There are too many variables, even on Atkins. Look at your new venture as being a process of discovery, not a diet.

Good luck! You'll do the right thing!

Karen

I'm new to this forum also. I think this is great. We'll be able to get ideas and share some too. I'm on a modified Atkins currently and attempting to keep carbs between 40 and 100 per day.
