Default Success with metabolic syndrome & fatty liver disease?

Does anyone have a success story about overcoming metabolic syndrome and/or fatty liver disease with LCHF? I've had the first for some time now and have just been diagnosed with the second. The recent diagnosis finally got my attention and pushed me back into LCHF. I'm so glad I'm here but am looking for good news, cases where these two medical conditions have been resolved with the LCHF WOE. Thanks!

If you go to DietDoctor and put Fatty Liver Disease into the Search Box, it will come up with the latest studies and articles on NAFLD. (I particularly like Dr. Fung's article) But keep scrolling back through "Older Posts" and you will also see pages of Success Stories (results are not in date order)

https://www.dietdoctor.com/?s=fatty+liver+disease

Christine has a typical successs story eliminating both NAFLD and Metabolic Syndrome.
https://www.dietdoctor.com/keto-int...wn-away-changes She has been active on Kristie's FB page throughout her transformation with many great photos, and there are other women like her. She happens to be one I remember. Kristie's FB page is also searchable by fatty liver disease or use #transformationTuesday or #faceliftfriday http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=470795

Some of the other success stories on DietDoctor are even more dramatic, but Christine is similar to you in stats and you might expect similar results.

You can also search on this forum by using the ADVANCED Seach function, not the regular box.

I seemed to always have bad liver numbers, my endo mentioned its pretty typical for wheat intolerant people. Cutting out wheat (most of the time) I now have very normal numbers.

I wish ANY of my doctors had told me that. Still, it's encouraging news since I've now cut out wheat as well. Looking to the day when my diagnostic studies show no more NAFLD!

Routing for you! I feel best getting rid of grains altogether. I've had food tolerance testing and had IgG to rice so maybe that's why.

Rice? One doesn't hear of rice allergies very often.

I haven't had any allergy testing done but do know that in some (so far) undefinable way I feel much much better after discontinuing refined sugars & wheats. Big change in my mental attitude. More buoyant both physically and mentally. Love that side effect of this WOE!

Small study but super encouraging. I've got my recent abd US demonstrating NAFLD as my current liver status, so we'll see what the next one shows after I've followed LCHF. Love the fact that we can all conduct our OWN experiments.

Think the spell check gremlin worked on that sentence
Did you have an ultrasound or blood work for diagnosis?

Sorry, I'm a retired medical transcriptionist and was apparently on autopilot.

That was "abdominal ultrasound."

Being obese and older, I was dismayed but not surprised with the fatty liver findings. But I am excited that I now have this changed way of eating to reverse that damage, and the article you posted earlier only strengthens my hope that it's doable.

Great that you had an ultrasound pre-LC. Will be interesting to have an exact measure of progress. I convinced one friend to go LC and know her markers returned to normal, but not sure what tests her doctor used. She both lost weight and her NAFLD.

Yes, Janet, that's the silver lining around my NAFLD...a great baseline picture of the condition that will prove useful in the future.

Great news about your friend's experience. Question: After your friend's NAFLD diagnosis, how long was it between her implementation of LCHF and news that the condition had been reversed?

Don’t remember but thinking it was retested about a year after diagnosis? First she tried a WW type diet, then switched to LC.
