Hi Karen - Going to try your Halibut w/Pine Nut recipe this week - wondering if you have a halibut stuffed w/shrimp in cream sauce recipe, as well.
Thanks!

Default Halibut and pine nuts anyone?

Karen's gourmet recipe presenting "Halibuts with Pine Nut and Parmesan Crust" was absolutely delicious.

I added a little extra garlic to it and boy oh boy was it fabulous. We had a little broccoli on the side and it was a fabulous meal - a little "frozen pudding drop" for dessert and we had a completely healthy and fun dinner. Thanks Karen!

Glad it worked so well for you! Try it with other white fish - sole, cod, ruffy...

I tried this recipe too, but not having pine nuts, I substituted blanched almonds.. It was sooooo good, the halibut was like butter!!

In fact, I've bought more of it - going to try the recipe with pecans this time

Thanks Jean! Isn't it great that halibut season has started here?

Aha!!!

So THAT'S why I'm seeing halibut on sale for a price I can actually afford, without having to take out a bank loan

Of course, here in Ontari-ari-ari-oh, even on sale it's still expensive. But I love it nonetheless.

Karen, Yes.. it's wonderful. I had it tonight using your recipe but with pecans.. God, it was good. (I bought 2 HUGE steaks of it) and told all my office mates about the sale (Save On) and your recipe

I also tried kale tonight, first time in my life.. just steamed it and put a pat of butter and some No Salt on it. Wow, it's really good, too I feel so virtuous eating all these healthy things. hehehe

Kale rocks doesn't it?

It's on my list of "Super Supplement Foods":

Raw Kale, 1 cup (240 mL) chopped
Calcium 90.450 mg
Magnesium 22.780 mg
Potassium 299.490 mg

One of the best things I've had with kale is at Vij's restaurant at 13th near Granville. They dip it in coconut milk and lime juice and grill it. It's still chewy and deliciously smokey.

I should try replicating it in a cast iron pan...

Oh my, that sounds good! And guess what? I still have kale and also a can of coconut milk AND limes.. ))

I am going to try this new recipe tonight.. Garlic & Feta Chicken. If it's good, I'll post in the recipe section (at least if it's not there already - I forget where I get recipes sometimes, maybe I should put that in when I save them).

DH and I just finished this... OMG! I never knew halibut could taste this good outside of a restaurant. This recipe gets 5/5 stars and was quite easy to prepare.

Thank you, Karen! I cannot wait until your new cookbook is out.

I have to put this on my "to do" list.
Here I was trying to experiment with a fish breading (see main dishes), and you've already done all the "leg work".

My son couldn't wait for halibut season, and we ended up buying some frozen snapper fillets - so perhaps I'll try a mixture - since now I have both on hand.

Oh, boy, I'm feeling so wonderful about this WOE. I grew up on fish and fresh veggies from my dad's garden (never kale, but lots of Swiss Chard). Brings back such great memories. My dad was the greatest cook.

It's always great when halibut season starts. We literally sell tons of it!

I make another version of this with pesto and mayonnaise as the "glue". Mix the two together, dip one side of the fish in the mixture and then dip in Parmesan cheese.
