I'm glad to hear about l-carnitine, my weight loss has slowed down to a snails crawl. I lucky if I lose 1 or 2 lbs a month. I thought it was because I was older and slowed down

Matty,

Thank you for your post! I've been teetering between 152.5 and 154 pounds for the last 7 weeks and have tried just about everything (except refeeding, which would be a disaster for me). I will give this a try!

I commend you for sticking with the plan through thick and thin. You are an inspiration, that's for sure!

I'm wondering how everyone's doing? I've been finding that my weight is bouncing all over the place (although going down a little over 1lb/wk on average). I'm wondering if the fat coming off at last is throwing my water out of balance, or if the weeks I'm off the l-carnitine, my body is still trying to kick into gear and keep burning fat but can't quite make it, or what? Any theories? All I know is, I've always been steady steady steady, and now I can be up or down 2 pounds from one morning to the next.

By any chance did you add vitamins at the same time? I don't get colors with the l-carnitine, but I definitely do with a strong multi-vit. I think it's one of the B's that does it.

I have always taken vitamins but I did start taking a "higher end multi vitamin" that is supposed to absorb into the body better that could be it as well. didnt think about that. Thanks

And the reflex ones come in a pretty, shiny bottle, which is always a good thing!

Hey there,

I've been taking L-carnitine in a liquid supplement, planning on taking capsule form after I finished the liquid supplement. It is expensive, I bought it from HSN. I will check out Wal-Mart or Target. I think I also check Hi-Health, sometimes they have products that if you buy 2, you get the 2nd at half price. I'll have to do a price comparison and quality check.

Thanks. Cindy Q

Never heard that you're supposed to refridgerate the pills, but I don't know about gel or liquid. My pills are pills, not softgels.

I was so glad to find this thread. I have been stalled for 4 weeks. I was still losing inches and things still seem to be adjusting, but the fact that the scale hasn't budged in that long can get depressing! On one hand I am amazed that you stuck with the plan for 18 months. I would have lost my mind by that point. But then again, I might have stuck with it so I wouldn't have gained the weight back AND I just LOVE the energy I have on this plan!! My 8 & 10 year old have a hard time keeping up now!
I bought the l-carnitine at wal-mart today for $10.97 for 30 pills. I can't wait to start them to see if this is the problem. Keep your fingers crossed!
