Default anyone done Protein Power THROUGH pregnancy?

Of course, I don't mean for weightloss, but just as maintenance?

I have fallen off the Protein Power wagon TWICE with my 2 pregnancies...because I get to the point that I just cannot LOOK at protein or fat. Carbs are the only source of food I can tolerate.

Then, once the meat issue is gone (usually 3rd trimester or after delivery), it takes me FOREVER to remotivate myself back to my better way of eating.

Of course, I yoyo because of this.

So, has anyone been pregnant and was able to stick to Protein Power (maintenance..as a way of eating) through pregnancy - eventhough the smell of cooking meat just made you want to wretch?

-- Loretta

p.s...I ask because right now, it's hard for me to stay motivated with going back to Protein Power because I am hoping to be pregnant again. And I just can't take another yoyo effect!

Smile Wow...I could have written your post!

I could not STAND even the smell of meat when I was pg. I fear of that again with #2.

My midwife told me to snack on lots of nuts and seeds for protein....doesn't quite give you the amount you need though.

I can only hope next time I don't have a meat adversion.

Good Luck!

I wasn't even thinking about low-carbing when I was pregnant, but I had a meat aversion as well. To keep my protein up, I ate alot of peanut butter and a lot of dairy. Yes you get carbs with that, but pregnant I don't think that's too bad.
