Still here, but haven't transitioned to the plan yet. Still sticking with Atkins OWL right now.

I have signed up for the Fast Tract to the Belly Fat Cure program that is starting on the 10 th of this month. Think it will be more like Atkins induction, but hoping to learn something new. The new book I think is due to come out in April?

Have you been on the belly fat cure since September? How much of your weight loss is attributable to it?

I have very little weight left to lose and then on to maintenance. I'm thinking the belly fat cure diet would be an excellent maintenance program for me, once I get all the foods and numbers figured out.

I started today (at 145 lbs and 31.5 waist measurement). I LOVE the food so far.

Here's my first day's menu:

B
2 lg eggs
1-2 t butter
Flax bread, 1 slice
S
Almonds, 10
L
4 oz shrimp with hot sauce, 1 t
Salad
-Lettuce, 1 c shredded
-Cucumber, 1/2 small
-Avocado, 1/2 small
-Green onion, 1
-Tomato, 1/3 small
-Crumbled feta cheese
-olive oil
Wasa Fiber cracker, 1
S
Mozz string cheese stick, 1
D
Sirloin burger, 6 oz, with cheese melted on top
Bubbies sauerkraut, 1/2 c
Brown rice, 1/2 c

Totals for the day: 61.5 carbs, 9 grams sugar

interesting . i understand the <15 grams of sugar
BUT what exactly does the" 6 carb servings"
mean
Does one piece of wheat toast = one serving or a bowl of cereral?

I do not personally do this diet though in helping my wife (who loves the BELLY FAT CURE with all it's recipes (and carbs!)) I have learned much about it.

1 serving of carbs is 5g-20g of carb; 2 carbs is 20-40 etc. In a meal when you are preparing the meal you add the carbs together to come up with you number. Say 1/2 cup of lettuce is 4 carbs. If you ate it as a stand alone meal you would NOT count it as it is under the 5g threshold that constitutes a serving of carb (5g) but when you add it to a taco (shell, 13g; tomatoes, 5g; cheese, 1g; salsa 3g) you add them all together which makes 22g or 2 carb servings for the meal. Yes. It is only 2g over the 20g of 1 serving but still when you went over the 20g mark you need to count it as 2 SERVINGS.
The preference is to get the carbs from a list of "healthy" foods as outlined in the book.
I am NOT on that program but a lower carb plan and can eat almost every lunch and dinner item in the book by just leaving off the rice or whatever is higher carbs than is on my plan.
Looks very doable for someone who enjoys cooking and wants a higher carb diet. Folx who have lost their weight may find it a great maintenance plan. Heavy people could probably lose weight on this program but it would (I am not a doctor) probably happen at a slower rate than those on a true low carb or paleo plan.
I have read the book (the information part) and it is short, sweet and to the point. More than 75 percent of the book is recipes, meal plans, testimonials. I did not read the fluff.
The new Belly Fat Cure Fast Track is low carb as I understand without grains or dairy. More closely aligned to what many on these boards have found to work for them.
By the way, on your original question about toast vs cereal. Last night when I got home I was helping my wife figure her 15/6 count. We started with her helping of Great Grains (NOT ON THE BFC list) and when we hit 13g sugar BEFORE the milk I stopped counting as just breakfast and she was over for the day. NOW she understands. :-) And her total for yesterday (before she really understood the program) was like 30/6.

Been on the Belly Fat Cure FAST TRACK for a week and it is a very good low carb eating program. A little limited in it's primary selection if you follow the 2 week plan in the book but anyone with a good grasp of Atkins or any other low carb plan can plow thru it with minor legal modifications. I feel great. I am only using it for a few weeks to kick start my journey on the higher carb (book says up to 120g carbs a day...my version will be around 80g) Belly Fat Cure with it's 6 helpings of carbs (each serving is up to 20g) and 15g sugar in a day - no meal over 2 helping sizes of carbs or 5g sugar.
My wife has been on Belly Fat Cure for 2 months and has lost weight consistantly enjoying all her favorite foods or versions thereof. She is a smallish woman (started at 146 pounds or so) and has eaten well. And lost weight. I eat the same basic foods minus the carbs.

In 2 weeks of FAST TRACK, I lost a little over 17 pounds. I would guess this would be more than most would lose as I am a very big man and I should lose more as I have more to lose. That said, I am also handicapped. I cannot exercise much. Certainly not aerobically.
Happy fella. It was not too hard and a great way to slide into BFC. I choose to lose one helping of carbs (20g) from his outlined plan. I choose to eat a max of 80g carbs a day. And I will see how this goes. I also choose to follow the Fast Track edict of no wheat. :-)
Wife is doing BFC just as outlined in the book and has consistantly lost a little bit every week. She loves it!
