Question Blast Ornamental Pepper

Hi Karen,

I have a quick question that is not necessarily LC related. A friend gave me a pepper plant that appears to be called a "Blast Ornamental Pepper". The label reads as follows:

Capsicum X Blast
Fast growing upright plant that provides
lasting fruit that matures from red to yellow.

I am curious to know if these peppers are edible or not. It doesn't say not to eat them but the name does say "ornamental". What do you think? Could I use them to cook with?

Thank you,

Chud

Yes, they can be eaten. But beware! Chili peppers straight off the plant are incendiary. They're probably called Blast X for a good reason.
