Default Nursing mamas what diet?

Hi, I'm just joining and have 13 month old who still nurses a lot and who I won't wean for at least 10 months. (I also have an 18 year old who is home for a few more months before leaving on gap year travels.)
I have a thyroid condition since giving birth and have not lost any weight in over a year--I am accustomed to looking and feeling really good so this is hell for me.
Anyway, I don't know what diet to do--I am a high protein and mainly vegetable eating person anyway but I just get so hungry and then my gluten free toast with butter is my salvation or a glass of raw milk...

I'd love to hear what you like about your diet and how you manage the quick wicked hungry moments!
Thanks.

Why not make yourself some nice gluten-free, low-carb baked good? Lots of good recipes here and there's a cookbook being discussed in the kitchen talk forum.

I don't know what it feels like to nurse a baby. But I do know that I can kill hunger dead in its tracks by eating more fat.

Cook your protein in lots of fat. Add butter to your veggies. You can top your fish with flavored butter. Or steam veggies and top with a few Tbs of sour-cream-based dip. Make mayonnaise-based salads (egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, etc.).
