Dr Westman's recent video on fiber also went into many of these questions on constipation. https://www.facebook.com/AdaptYourL...hc_location=ufi To keep the water in the tissues where it belongs, also be sure you have enough salt. Fat, water and salt, all good once most people get through an adjustment period.

Janet ~ Thank you! I watch dr eric westen's video on consuming fiber in your diet. Didn't know that it is important to take salt to keep the electrolytes balanced in our bodies. I don't use table salt anymore, but instead use the himalayan salt which I heard is better for you.

So do I, it is delicious. I also take a kelp tablet now and again, to make up for the fact that my salt is no longer iodized.

I think it is better for you too, includes trace amounts of minerals that are processed out of standard table salt. But to make eating better complicated the Himalayan and other fancy salts have only a tiny fraction of the iodine you would get with the fortified blue canister. This article by Dr Davis back in 2012 http://www.wheatbellyblog.com/2012/07/an-iodine-primer/ made me realize that I had no source of iodine for the previous five years. Started taking kelp tablets and still do.

A good thread about the book, The Salt Fix, and link to Nancy's long standing thread on Get Your Salt. http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=477948
