Happy Hump Day!

I had an appointment with my cardiologist today, it went well. I had blood work done and will go back in about 6 weeks to discuss it. I know my cholesterol is higher than he wants it to be, but I can’t take a higher dose of statins without side effects.

We had salmon and a spinach salad for lunch. Dinner will be tuna if I get hungry.

I haven’t had any more good luck on my date days at the Casino! Wednesdays are senior days for gambling or movies so that’s when we go. I think I’m getting bored with the gambling. It’s not something I’ve ever liked.

Hope everyone is enjoying hump day

Hello All,

De, I think the exercise might help with the cholesterol numbers! Remember I am on the highest statin possible plus have cut out most meat to get it down. I was afraid De didn’t want to have to do those injections!
I also am not a gambler but I luv going to casinos and people watch. My sister in laws go on senior days and on weekends when they up North in Wisconsin!
Paulette. Sorry I missed the anniversary of the death of your mom. Sending thoughts and peaceful vibes your way!
So glad the scale is holding still that a huge victory it isn’t going up.
Paulette, I really only like my salad, spinach and jalapeños but was trying to force more veggies to get the numbers down. I probably will drop the cauliflower and broccoli and just stick with Hugh spinach and leafy green salads with my jalapeño. I sure luv those!
Have a terrific Thursday and take care of yourself!

Hello all!

It is a hot day here today, and will be in the 90's the next couple days. Time to put my pool up! Yay!

I did not weigh in today and may not do it the rest of the week. Mainly because of the heat and humidity. Makes my feet swell. And I drink an awful lot, so I want things to stabilize before I start focusing on that evil scale.

Otherwise I get in a bad mood. I know. Sounds stupid.

Today I had cold shrimp with avocado sauce for lunch. I am going to have a couple leftover brats for dinner, and maybe some yogurt later. No sale lettuce yet.

Still busy, and will continue to be so this whole weekend. Then I plan to take a couple days off and float in my pool, as weather permits!

You all have a great night!

It’s Friday!

I haven’t been sleeping well for the last two nights because of a sore neck and shoulder area. I went to the gym but was careful because of my neck. Usually I go to the gym on Wednesday, but because of my cardio appt I went yesterday instead.

I had chicken wings yesterday with celery for my first meal. Later I had chicken salad and red and yellow pepper strips. After that meal I had SF jello.

We’ve had some good weather lately. I know it’s just a matter of time before it turns real HOT. Yesterday was the last day of school, now the kids are on summer break.

I don’t weigh myself every day, more like once a week.

Have a fun Friday

Hello Everybody!

Oh, the days are starting to get hot here. It was in the 90's today and will be again tomorrow. I finally put up the pool today. Yay! The summer has begun.

I had some baked fish today. So good! I need to make more tomorrow. Dinner was just a yogurt protein shake as I ate lunch late. So calories were quite low today.

I still cannot find any lettuce leaves on sale! People are buying the stuff so frequently these days that they never get to the point of having to mark them down I guess.

De - sorry to hear you are having pain! Pain is no fun. I developed a spinal condition last summer and it is affecting my hip joints. I thought it was arthritis, but it is my spine. I cannot walk without pain now. so I understand. I have an appointment with a pain specialist next month, but it cannot come soon enough. You take walking for granted...you never think about it until you can't do it any more. I would give anything to be able to walk without pain again!

Well, you all have a great evening and a better weekend! Goodnight!

Happy Saturday!

It’s 72 and sunny here! So today is cooler but next weekend it’s due to be 95.
I wish we could keep today’s weather longer!

Hi Paulette, sorry to hear you are also in pain! I am still suffering with neck pain, but I know it is only temporary. I am looking forward to this going away soon. Have a cool time with your pool!

Hi Berni, I have one of those kiddie pools too. I have set it up twice so far this year. We also have a park by us with a nice water feature that’s fun! The grandkids really enjoy that park. We also have a lot of nice walking trails too. The pups enjoy those.

Have a good weekend all.

Hi! Going to join today weighing in at 204. Had success with original Atkins back in 2013. Hoping to repeat the experience, but not looking forward to the difficulties of the first few days!

Hello MSC! So glad to have someone join us! And a greater place for accountability you cannot find. I hope the day is going good for you today without too many difficulties or temptations. Stick to it, it gets easier. I keep some of those Oscar Mayer P3 snacks around just for the nighttime hungries. Maybe that can help???

Hello Everyone! I have been in and out, enjoying the weekend and all sorts of general junk. Not much time to spend online. But today is back to work day, so here I am.

Weight is not budging. I am not complaining. It will suddenly whoosh when it is ready. For now, I am enjoying staying overweight!

I had shrimp and veggies with ranch dip for lunch. And I am enjoying my afternoon coffee now. I put a small scoop of protein powder in my coffee as I did not have much shrimp. Only about 2.5 oz. I like to keep my protein at 60g or more a day if I can.

Yesterday I had a bratwurst and a burger patty with cheese. And more shrimp! We had a good sale on it at the local store, so I take advantage. Shrimp is one of my favorite foods. Very low cal. High in protein. And it can be eaten hot or cold in so many ways! God bless all the little shrimps who give up their lives so that I can continue to survive.

Today is rainy and cool in the 70's. The skeeters are a big as eagles and as ravenous as vampires around here! Stay out of the shade!

I hope you are all having a great day! Talk to you tomorrow.

Happy Thursday!

I made it to the gym this morning, even though I was tired and didn’t feel like going! I go 3 days a week, but it’s not always the same 3 days, it just depends on what’s going on. Yesterday was senior discount movies so we went to that.

We are taking a dog to get groomed today. He’s looking pretty shaggy. He needs a summer cut. After that we’re going to ikea for free coffee. Beats paying Starbucks prices.

I plan on eating light today. I’m having tuna and a spinach salad later and then maybe some SF jello.

M...I hope you’re still doing good on your first week!

Paulette, your shrimp sounds good. DH likes to grill shrimp for us and he makes a chimichurri sauce to dip them in. They come out really good.

Have a great day all
