Default First 50 Pounds Gone!

I only weigh myself every few weeks. I like to see progress -- not the ups and downs of daily weigh-ins. Anyway, I stepped on the scale this morning and was happy to see I'd crossed the 50lb milestone. 55 lbs gone - much faster than I expected. I started 15 weeks ago --February 3, 2014. So that makes this an average rate of about 3.5 lbs per week. How is that possible? I guess my "don't cheat, ever" approach is working. I'm loving the low carb lifestyle more and more each day.

How wonderful to discover this milestone so casually too, no obsessing with the scales! Way to go!

It looks like you are well on your way. Stick with your program and you'll get there soon enough. When you do get there, be sure to post it. You'll be nearly half way to your goal and that is certainly cause for celebration.

I'm a click away from 75 pounds gone, now. My goal is to crack the 100 pound mark by summer's end.

Thanks for the encouragement, slmrickman. I checked out your progress photos and that, too, was another boost of encouragement. We are the same body type and your "before" photo was me to a T 5 months ago. And your progress photo is where I am headed. What you've done is amazing and I'm sure you feel even better than you look. Thanks for sticking around on this forum. We need the people like you who show us - by example - how it is done.

Not long ago, after a life of failed weight loss attempts, I had pretty much thrown in the towel. Losing even 100 pounds again seemed like a 'bridge too far" and losing 200+ was fantasy land. Then I stumbled onto the right path -- the one you are on. I'm only 1/3 of the way there - but for the first time - I see losing 200 pounds as being not only possible - but inevitable, as long as I stay on this path. Learning how to do it right (staying on plan, 100%) and thinking of it as a lifestyle change -- not a diet -- has made all the difference. I like how I'm eating now and I love the control. Soon enough, my weight loss journey will be over -- but my WOE will not.
