Back in ancient times, there was a weird form of Capital Punishment. They would take a burlap sack....put the person to be executed in it WITH a Monkey...a Snake and a Dog. They they would tie the bag and throw it in a river.

Last time I tried Metformin..my tummy felt like what it must have felt like in that bag.

I was successfully on Metformin for about a year and then found my blood sugars were regularly getting too low. So I cut back, still maintaining my long acting insulin 2x/day (for Type 2). I have tried to return to using Metformin, but find, ahem, that I sometimes have to run really really fast to the bathroom.

I was put on 500mg Metformin twice a day when I diagnosed with type 2 diabetes(blood sugar readings of 500) and started eating LC. After about 7 months of LC eating and having reached my goal prior to that, I went to 500mg once a day and a month later I was able to stop medication completely. Today I control my type 2 diabetes with LC diet alone and maintain an a1c of 52 to 54.

In the time I was on Metformin, I never had a problem with it.
