It doesn't appear too many people are following this plan. For any of you who are and you don't have alot of weight to lose, how are you doing on it?

I'm not following this plan exactly, since I'm eating fewer carbs than it allows (approx 30-35 a day), but I have read the text and books about it, and also try to cut down on the amount of saturated fats I'm eating. So in a way I'm on it (just fewer carbs). I love its emphasis on monounsaturated fats and try to make that the center of my WOE. However, as I recall, it's pretty liberal with carbs, and I'm not sure I could eat as many carbs as it allows and still lose/maintain weight. I do have some whole milk yogurt with 5 active bacteria every day, as the plan recommends.

I had 15 pounds to lose when I started low-carbing a couple of months ago. The first 8 or so came off very quickly within 3 weeks of following Atkins induction. Then I switched to Atkins pre-maintenance/protein power, which are basically the same thing (about 25-30 carbs). Lost another 4 pounds over the course of a few weeks. Now I'm just trying to maintain what I've lost, which is working well so far. My one piece of advice: DON'T aim for a quick weight loss, once the water weight comes off at the beginning. Especially if you don't have much to lose, it's a better idea to aim for only a half a pound to a pound a week or so.

Good luck! I think Go-Diet is a great plan.

This time with Atkins, I am not losing and actually have gained. I am thinking it's because of the sugar alchohols they now subtract. I think I have to count them. So now I only deduct the fiber and am glad to have the kefir and yogurt! I try not to go to 50 grams either because I only have 13 pounds to go and have been trying so hard to get this off!
