Wink Washingtonians Unite!

I am seeing a lot of posts from folks around Washington state. I thought it would be fun to see how many of us there are.

I live in the Issaquah area with great access to Costco, Trader Joe's, GNC. I thought it would be nice to be able to discuss resources for our area.

So come on by and say HI!

I am in Stanwood. It's a little one-eyed town 40-50 miles north of Seattle.

I'm in Port Townsend - with no direct access to all the great places you list. I have Costco in Silverdale and Port Angeles, and last weekend found the Cash and Carry in Bremerton.

However, living out here on the Olympic Peninsula, away from all the traffic and congestion of the "other side" is great! <G>

Cait and I live in Everett. We have access to Costco, Cash & Carry, Trader Joes and GNC. We also have Everett Co-op and Pilgrim's Nutrition for more variety.

We live in the Yakima Valley. We have a Costco in Yakima and TriCities. We try to stay with basic foods as opposed to the shakes and bars.

P.S. Fresh asparagus is great! We're going to freeze some this weekend.

I've heard people talk about Cash & Carry - I know the prices are good. What sort of items do they stock?

Hi Guys!!!

I am in Puyallup. I have lived in the Fife-Puyallup area all of my life.

I have access to Costco, TJ's and Marlenes. What does everyone get at Cash & Carry?

Vicrock - Port Townsend is beautiful. We used to cruise there in our boat from Tacoma 2 times a year for Sea Scouts when I was a kid.

I too try to stay away from bars and shakes. I need to eat real food, or I don't stay satisfied.

Wee

Cash & Carry is where I generally buy cream, Splenda (something like $3.50 for the big box!), DaVinci and Torani syrups, big bags of spinach, ground beef, and frozen shrimp.

I hit up Trader Joe's for butter, low carb tortillas, soy protein powder, almond butter, olive oil, and Rainier Valley Ezekiel 4:9 bread (though they've changed the recipe for that, I think...it's not quite as yummy as it used to be). Marlene's for coconut oil, and Brown Cow Organic Whole Milk Yogurt--oh my gawd, yum. And a smoothie shop in the Tacoma Mall for 100% Whey.

Luckily, I live within a mile of all of those except Trader Joe's, so it's not nearly as much running around as it sounds.

Oh, and in case the Tacoma Mall context clue wasn't enough...I'm in Tacoma.

Cash and Carry is an institutional/restaurant/bar supply wholesaler. Sort of what Costco was once before it became a fad.

They have bulk food items, meats and produce (and Franks Red Hot in gallon jugs! ) as well as restaurant hardware and barware. The first time I started really stocking up on DaVinci syrups I also got a package of those pour spouts in the bar section.

For anyone cost-conscious shopping, or especially for a hobby chef like me, C&C is a fun place to do your shopping!

The one in Tacoma is at 6208 Tacoma Mall Blvd--a few lights down from the Tacoma Mall.

*waves* I'm here in Yakima - I mainly do my grocery shopping wherever I can ... sometimes Food Pavillion, sometimes Safeway, etc. etc. I'd probably shop at Costco if I could, but I jus can't afford those crazy membership fees. I'm an in-home caregiver and have a *very* modest salary.

I have found that Target and Wal-Mart are good places to find Atkins bars - I have been directed to Beem's Nutrition here in town, but I haven't made it over there yet.

I'm in Redmond and love the Trader Joe's in Kirkland - low carb bread, olive oil and the best and cheapest whole milk yogurt - it's their house brand, Cream Line. They carry Atkins and Advantage bars for about as cheap as you can buy in bulk online, although I don't eat those myself. And the little health food store across the parking lot is a certified Atkins Food Center. Also, I recently found several kinds of Belgian sugar free chocolate at Cost Plus World Market along with a slew of Torani syrups, sweetened with Splenda.

Vicrock - PT, huh? I wonder if you know my sister, Elisa Westall. I know it's not that small anymore, but she knows a lot of people.

Cash and Carry - I thought there was one in Bellevue, right off 140th, but I can't find a listing. Anyone know if there's one on the Eastside?
