Hi Mrs. K,

My own 2008 resolution is to lose 100 pounds in 2008! What a coincidence. I'm with you on this. I lost 2.75 pounds in week #1 of 2008. Now I'm working on another loss for this week. I am more determined than ever. I will be 40 this year. I have about 180 pounds total to lose.

I am also looking to loose 100 pounds in 2008, although I would be okay with loosing 85 as that would get me down to 200 from my new year start weight.

Keep up the great work everyone!

Kate

Thank you for firing up this thread. I commit to losing the 100 pounds with you...though I will chop my year into 90 day sections as for me 100 pounds is daunting. Call it old man itis. Or wisdom of the deranged.

This is the 1st year I can recall in which I did not make a new year resolution to accomplish "something". I believe in them. I just managed to waltz into the new year unresolved. :-)

MisterE, I agree with chopping your year into sections, makes the task a lot less daunting!

I am aiming to loose 8.5 pounds a month! We'll see how it goes!!!

Default Count Me In!

Thanks for starting this challenge. I also, want to lose 100 pounds in 2008. Some of it will be new weight and some unfortunately will be weight I regained after falling off the low carb wagon. I was down 90 pounds in Jan. 2007 and then life got crazy and I turned to carbs-talk about a wrong turn! So now I have forty pounds that I need to lose again plus another 60 pounds would but me close to goal. I know low-carb is the way to go and I am surprised that once I finally got back on track, my carb cravings have settled down.

I like the idea of a once a month official weigh in as I am trying really hard to stay off the scale-I tend to get obessed with numbers once I start weighing myself.

Best of luck to everyone.
We can do this!
Christy

I'm sooooo there! Count me in for losing 100 lbs in 2008.

I started on Jan 1st and tomorrow is my official weigh-in (today is the last day of induction). I've lost 9.5 lbs as of this morning (couldn't help stepping on the scale for a quick peek!)
