visualize yourself enjoying all this in a healthier, less-heavy body...

I chose the title "Fit for Fall" for a couple of reasons: First, one definition of 'fit' is: 'suitable for a particular purpose'. I'm taking a little liberty here to say the closer we are to normal weight, the more suitable we are for the purposes of feeling good about ourselves; for enjoying life, our families, friends, and the world around us. Secondly, I personally feel more fit, the lower my weight is. I'm lighter on my feet, have more energy, and feel better up to the tasks of life. Even a few pounds makes a difference!

Since September 23rd is a Wednesday, weeks will start on Thursdays, and end on Wednesdays.

To join, copy and paste the most recently posted chart (the last chart someone posted...always look for it at the end of the last page of the thread), add your name in alphabetical order, your 'Current Starting Weight' (whatever you weigh on that day), "to be added" under "Weigh-in Update", and your goal weight for September 23rd.

Note: this week, from now until Thursday, June 2nd, we will only be joining and establishing our chart. Beginning June 2nd (through the 9th) we will correct our starting weights, if necessary, and the challenge begins! First weigh-in update will be the week beginning Thursday June 9th.

Updating your weight each week: Same process: copy and paste the most recently posted chart (the last chart someone posted - look at the end of the last page) into a new post, and enter your current weight for the week under "Weigh-in Update".

Feel free to chat or add comments!

I'll start the chart in the next post.

I was originally going to list 165 as my goal, but 159 would be a new low for me for probably over 10 years and that would be a real achievement for me. Therefore, I'm going to give it a shot! I think with the amount of weight I have to lose, it should be within reach. If not, hopefully, I will get close.

Yes, I am Paula

My goal is not too ambitious either. My lowest post-kids/pre-meno weight was 151 or 150. I've been maintaining at about 161 (oops...yesterday...lol) and could probably get down to 155 with some serious focusing!

Kosmo, interesting how we are all in the same goal-weight ballpark so far. Your goal *is* more ambitious, but quite possibly attainable since it is about 2 lbs. a week, and you're motivated! I think you are younger, too (right?) which helps!

I'd like to jump in here. My goal is moderate, I think. I'm hoping for 1½ pound drop. I usually do good in the summer and then fall apart in October (seasonal affective disorder). I hope this year will be different.

Toddy, your goal works out to be about 1.25 lbs per week...I think that is doable!

Renee, I hope the weekly reporting helps you stay focused on your goal!

JAnn, 1.5 lbs. per week would get you perilously close to Onederland I hope you can find something that works on your S.A.D. this year. ((hugs))

Ladies (and potential gentlemen) I found out today I am going to be leaving for 2 weeks to help a friend who is having a really rough time. I'll try to check in daily but wi-fi is sketchy where she lives (Sierra foothills) and my cell doesn't work there. If I get in to her office it's all fine. But I may not. I think I am going to leave tomorrow, if I can get laundry and packing done in time.

Also, *Kosmo*...beginning Thursday July 2nd, please remind everyone to correct their start weight if it has changed since they joined. Then Thursday, July 9th, remind people to post their first Weigh-in Update.
