Every pill comes with a price as we fight symptoms and not causes. Taking pills is too easy of a response and the real price to pay in health risks is never understood until it's too late in many cases. I'm not certain what stopped my GERD, and if I were simply trying to pinpoint the root cause, I'd start gradually adding grains, types of dairy, alcohol on a regular basis, sweets, and some of the many other things I no longer eat. I've been GERD free for over three years now, and it was one or more of those food sources that caused the issues. For me, GERD was one of the many symptoms that vanished by going low carb. PPIs were once a daily consumable, and something I'm happy to not require any longer.
