Default "Stephy's Drinking Chocolate."

Too good to be called "Hot Chocolate."

1/3 cup whipping cream
1 cup water
1 tbsp. cocoa (I use Fry's)
2+ tbsp. Splenda (or to taste)
pinch of Kosher salt
2 squares Lindt 85% dark chocolate

Whisk together over medium heat until just below a simmer...stirring constantly. If it's not creamy enough, add more whipping cream....

Serves two...but I drank the whole thing.

Typical.

Default what's the count

Stephy,
I am very new at this and would appreciate the carb count for this. I have been looking a long time for hot chocolate.
Thanks in advance

I think there is 3 or 4 in the chocolate. Nothing in the cream.

I make something similar but add a splash of coffee. It works with powdered coco too

Yummmmmmmmm

"Fry's" cocao is 2 grams per tablespoon...but also 2 grams of fibre...so zero....The cream has about 2 grams...and Lindt chocolate would be 4 grams per 3 squares....so you can use 1 square to shave off some carbs from the recipe.....The carbs in the Splenda depends on how much you put in!
I'd guess-timate between 3-5 carbs...(I'm no good at figuring these things out)
SO good, though...the pinch of salt is crucial.

I'm drinking some right now!

I just had to add that I made this today since it's so cold and rainy out...only instead of the Lindt chocolate I added SF dark chocolate flavoured with orange.

HOLY SMOKES WAS IT EVER GOOD!

(I don't even care that I burned my tongue.)

I woke up this morning feeling crappy and decided to try out this recipe.

I made mine with Droste Dutch Cocoa and 1 square of Dagoba's Xocolatl chocolate (made with chiles). I used erythritol and a few drops of Dark Chocolate stevia as the sweetener, and added a couple of shakes of chipotle pepper and cinnamon.

It's DELICIOUS! I may still be sick, but I'm feeling pampered.

Thanks Stephy!

I also made this today and it was very good. I replaced the Splenda with two drops of Sweetzfree and it was still delish. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us.

It just heightens the flavours and gives balance to the cocoa. You just need a teeny pinch.

Oh wow. This is absolutely decadent. I didn't have the 85% Lindt, but it was still very yummy. Just what I needed on my first day of my low carb lifestyle.

I make mine with water, splash of cream, bout 2 tablespoons of Hersheys cocoa, and 1 tablespoon of splenda.

Simple, and completely satisfies my hot cocoa need. I've been in love with cocoa since I was little
