Talking I am excited about joining the low-carb family

HI ALL,

I am very excited. I have read a couple of your messages before I decided to join. This is exactly what I need. Support. I gave birth 5 weeks ago. This is my second baby in 15 months. Whew! Anyway, I lost the extra pounds after my first baby on a low-carb diet.

This time I will try the Atkins Diet. I cannot start until after my 6 week checkup next week. However, I am reading the book to prepare. I need to lose 40lbs. And guess what? With all of the support on this site, I WILL.

Can't wait to get to know you all.

Smile Congratulations!

Congrats on the new baby! I am new to this site as well and just learning all of the rules of the road so to speak.

I hope my cravings go away soon so that I can concentrate on work again!

Again, welcome to the site and I wish you strength through Induction.

Stay

Thumbs up

Thanks to all of you for welcoming me.

Debbie, your progress is great 162-135! How long have you been low carbing it? Are the first two weeks as bad as everyone says? My addiction is honey wheat bread. I am hoping I can get past that. I can pretty much do without sweets. Any other tips you can give me for the first 2 weeks would be greatly appreciated.

Again, congrats on your progress

hi simone! i wish i were 135!! the first # is my start weight. the last # is my goal weight. 135 is what i'm aiming for! the first time i did atkins i didn't find the induction too bad at all. i work at the service desk in a grocery store. i always had a tray of cookies at the desk for customers. i used to pig out on those cookies all day long. i was really committed when i started induction. i chewed a lot of sf gum and resisted those cookies. bye about midweek, i didn't crave them anymore. that was such a relief for me.
my biggest piece of advice for someone starting on induction is drink a ton of water! then drink some more! it really, really helps. check out our tips section at the top of the page! you'll find a lot of good tips there!
