Default Exercise through illness?

Hi all,

I just wondered if it was okay to continue with BFL through mild illness. I can feel "something" (probably a cold) coming on and I want to develop a plan to stay with my program before I start feeling really yucky and try to talk myself out of it.

I'm C1W2D1 and it would break my heart if I had to stop and then start all over again. I'll do it if I have to, but I'm hoping someone will tell me it's okay to keep going...

Thanks,

Dig

Default Hi Dig

I was sick myself on Saturday and had to miss a workout because well, I basically couldn't leave the bathroom as my tummy was upset at both "ends", as it were.... sorry, not pretty.

In any case, I would try to work out through a mild illness, recognizing that you may not be able to hit your 10s consistently during that time, and being willing to cut a workout short if you start to feel really bad and like you are overdoing it. If you get really sick, then you should really consider taking time off -- would you have to start all over from the top if you miss a day or two?

I'm almost as new at this as you are (C1W2D3), so what do I know

But I hope you feel better soon!

Babs

ps - Our stats & goals (not to mention haircuts , but I can't figure out how to resize a picture so it is small enough to be my avatar) are really similar, AND we started BFL w/in 2 days of each other, so let's try to give each other support!

Dig, the general rule of thumb as explained to me by one of my doctors was this: If the symptoms are above your neck you should be OK, just don't overdo it. If symptoms are in your chest or below take it easy and rest up, avoid exercise, especially if you're having a hard time breathing. This came with the following caveat: Don't start to exercise if you're sick and you haven't been active before that.

If you feel confident, let your body tell you what it needs. And go out and get some zinc lozenges ASAP. They can cut the duration of a common cold from 7-10 days to 3.

Babs, check out the "Technical Questions Forum" - there was a post 3 minutes ago on how to crop and place a picture as your avatar!

Angry grr

Nat,

I have been trying to edit the properties but it's still too big....

I will post in technical forum to see if they can help me resize.

Thanks

*lol* I came to tell you that I'd edited it down and I see you've attached it already - fast! The size has to be 100x100 pixels, just FYI
