Default Low Carbin' & Depression

I have been taking something for depression for years. Actually, I have to keep changing my meds because my body starts rejecting or becomes immune to something after awhile. Someone told me about DHEA & 5-HTP. I've been taking the DHEA successfully for five months and now it's seems to have quit working. I REALLY want to get off my meds and go a natural route - that's why I started with the DHEA. Is there anything anyone else has taken successfully? My husband says my mind is missing potatoes!

I'm guessing there's more to your program than simply medication, but if there's not, it might be time to look into additional support as well. There are a lot of nutritional changes that can be made, in addition to learning to live carb (and presumably pretty much alcohol too) controlled/free; exercise matters, sunshine and vitamin D matters; therapy matters for some people.

The book Depression-free Naturally offers a pretty pricey but apparently thorough supplement program. I use a few of her suggestions. (Joan Larson is the author.)

Good luck.
