Default 1 is too many a 1000's never enough!

This line keeps going through my mind today as I withdraw from sugar/carbs. If I eat one it will start up the craving all over again. When I get through the first few days, I start to feel so much better, it is not nearly so hard. Doing atkins, glad to have found u all! Becky

Welcome Becky,
How true. Which is why for many completely abstaining works better than "moderation". Decide which fits your personality more, tips on this thread. http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=468195 For me, artificial sweeteners are completely out for a number of reasons, awaking sugar cravings primary.
All the best,

Is your weight in pounds? Because if it is, your sugar cravings might be a consequence of being underweight, that would be way too low for somebody who's 6 feet tall.

Teaser I was lost signing up! I am not six feet tall! Where do I change that?

So far so good, 24 hours in, fuller than I usually am, eating carbs, was always hungry. Good day to all

Where do I change that?

Go up to dark green bar, click user CP (control panel) can change the data, mail preferences etc. as often as you wish, just remember to click save at bottom.
Also change start date to an actual date...as you progress "today" isn't that helpful Glad the cravings are better!

I'm glad to hear you're not six feet tall. I was actually hoping maybe your weight was in kilograms or something, but if you're short enough to make your weight goal reasonable, that's even better.

So you are already at a very healthy BMI for 5'2” so a focus on eating healthy, consuming less sugar and junk should be primary. That may just be simple ways to make eating well more convenient (new recipes here) / eating sugar less convenient (remove from house/change your environment). http://www.gretchenrubin.com/wp-con...ng_onesheet.pdf

If you think your love of sugar is serious problem, check out the long series from a sugar addiction expert on DietDoctor: http://www.dietdoctor.com

Those of us here who started out with lots of weight to lose but have reached a maintenace level are in a situation similar to yours. We might not have any more weight to lose but we have to stick with the low carb program not only to maintain weight loss but also to maintain good health. High carb diets are not good for anyone whatever their weight.

Jean, thanks so much. Yes diabetes,.heart attacks, mental health problems,.don't discrimanate! I feel bad with the weight thing, if I knew it was.going to be public, I may have embellished, never want to make anyone feel bad. Going into outback steakhouse, daughter saidnit was a good low carb place,.already wanting the bread but will order ansalad right away when I get in there. My daughter has struggled daily with her weight all her life, we eat the same stuff. I smoked most of my life and that changed metabloism. Thanks again for support means alot.
