Default Breakfast help

Hi everybody,

I love this WOE once morning is over but I'm sick of eggs, cheese and meat for breakfast. I'm even sick of mock danish! Does anybody have any ideas? I really miss cereal but I live overseas and don't have access to packaged stuff like some of these new low carb things.

Any good ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!

There is a recipe thread here. One specifically for breakfast ideas.

Here's a thought - someone posted that if you put pork rinds in a bowl, sprinkle splenda and cinnamon on top, soymilk on top of THAT - it tastes like cereal. I hesitantly tried this and she was right! It is very good.

Another thing to remember is you needn't eat "breakfast foods" for breakfast. Eat whatever you like.

The homefries/hashbrown recipe in the recipe forum is good. I do the less complicated version. Throw some radishes in the food processor, then I spray and frying pan with Pam, throw the radishes in on medium heat sprinkle quite a bit of onion powder, so garlic powder...Fry em for awhile, then add some crushed up pork rinds towards the end. Tada! Its sooooo good!! I eat mine with 2 eggs (of course) but you could probably have it with sausage or something. Sooo good!!!

If you can afford to "spend" a few carbs here is an idea. I love yogurt or kefir in the morning with SF Da Vincis syrup or berries. It is quick and easy.

I use turnips fried with onions and peppers spiced to your liking. Some sausage or bacon and a couple of fried eggs. Sick of eggs go for the soy milk and low carb cereal. I eat a bowl of oatmeal once a week as well, just to stir things up a bit. I probably don't lose weight as fast as the hard liners, but since last May I have dropped over thirty pounds. If you get sick of the food you will cheat badly and really screw yourself up, so my method is to eat what I like every day. If that means more salad or veggies than 20 carbs, so be it. Today I had a fresh picked cortland apple right from the farmer, almost 20 carbs in it. I feel a bit bloated but it was something I really looked forward to this fall, I love apples. I have yet to cheat by eating the homemade apple pie in the refrigerator a girl friend dropped off last night, give me strength Lord!

Iowagirl's right, we need to redefine what breakfast foods are.
I like:
plain yogurt with a little vanilla extract, a slice or 2 of chopped apple, a packet of splenda and some chopped almonds
hamburgers on a 3 carb roll
mini mushroom quiches
canned tuna with lots of low carb veggies, chopped small, mayo
smoked salmon roll-ups with cream cheese and celery sticks or scallions
One of my favorite things is salmon mousse made with a large can of red salmon, a small cream cheese, chopped scallions, sliced black olives, parsley and dill, and chilled. Sometimes I add 2 beaten eggs and bake it at 350 for 40 mins and it becomes a salmon loaf. Yummy!
