Does this forum software allow you to announce the creation of new forums, with something like a broadcast message, or short term automatic sticky at the top of each forum?

I've noticed new forums pop up, and it's difficult to keep track without doing at least a weekly check of the total forum list, or following a moved thread to it's new home.

If it doesn't, is it worth setting up a new forum just for announcements, with a post that links to new things? Or does that just become an administrative nightmare?

Yes, we have the announcements feature and we occasionally use it

I didn't think announcing a new forum is that important, since they are visible on the main page. But we can do that, if we create any new sub-forums.

If you have a procedure that you feel comfy with, then no need to change it on account of my laziness. I can continue to check the main forum list or follow moved threads.
