My daughter bought me some darrel lea chochy at easter time that was yum but once I started having stuff like that I went off the rails I just stick to the normal food.

G'day to you Sandgropers,

Have you heard of the Low Carb Pantry? They are a WA company, obviously who sells low carb stuff. I've never ordered anything from them, nor do I know anyone who has, but am happy to pass on the information that they exist. (I heard about them from another forum)

Their postal address is:
Lowcarb Pantry
PO Box 1251
E Victoria Pk
Western Australia 6101

And their web address is: http://www.lowcarb.com.au/

I believe the Bodhi bread people are also somewhere in Perth. They make lowish carb bread (7.1g per slice).

HTH

Roz

Hi, I am from WA too.

Bodhi's Bread is yummy and their bakery is on South Terrace in South Fremantle (well I am assuming it is still there as originally I was from Freo).

Thanks for the other link Roz.

Hi Trisha,

Where in WA are you from I am in Kalbarri and today is just a perfect day with about 27.
i notice your stats and you must be looking fantastic at the moment and I should wonder why you would want to go any lower? I have had some fun with my weight being up and down all the time. When I got married about 5 years ago I weighed 57 kgs and everyone said I looked too thin. This time I would love to get back there but do it with lots of exercise. When i was 57kg before i didnt exercise now I exercise and I can see a big difference in the way i look. People said I looked better when I was fit weighing 63kgs than just skinny at 57kgs funny hey?Now I have to try harder cause I let it slip away from me.
Anyway thats life. I am looking forward to getting to the city to check out all the low carb stuff will be there in june briefly.
Til next time

hI Barbejoy.

I live about 45mins north of Albany and 15mins north of Mt Barker, in the South West, on a small farm. Looks like I am in the lower end of the State and you on the upper section. We are having a nice sunny day too but there is a bit of a chill in the air when standing out of the sun.

So we are about the same height. I am borderline small to medium build and have narrow hips. I look slim except for my tum which holds all my fat weight.

I agree with you about looking better when we are fit even if we are a higher weight. Before children I weighed about 54kg in gym clothes (including shoes). I was working out then but not in a huge way. I got to 54kg this time around (middle of last year) and then decided after a few months of maintaining to shift my goal stats down to 50kg as I thought I would look better at that weight.

It is such a balance not to get too thin in the face while being happy how your body looks when you get to my age. I have always had a bit of a tummy and it seems to run in my family. Maybe I am expecting too much to lose it.

Hey all,
I am up in Currambine just north of perth.
Am just coming to the completion of the 2 week induction, but will probably keep it up for another 2 weeks.
Must say, that while this diet has been a technical challenge, looking at every label, trying to find something easy for breakfast, forgetting lunch and trying to find something other than a beef sausage at the lunch bar, it hasnt been psychologically difficult. being able to eat amply certainly makes a difference
Thanks for the tip on The Low Carb Pantry, hopefully i can find something there to vary the induction diet a little.

Cheers

Hi Barbejoy

I'm from Perth and in my sixth week of Atkins. Have already reached my goal weight (didn't have an awful lot to lose) but am sticking with the LC WOL because I feel so good and there are so many side benefits in relation to health and well being.

Unhappy Fallen on my face

Hi everyone, I'm in Perth as well Quinns Rocks area, well it's certainly been a really long time since I've been on here. Man I miss this diet. I stopped doing it, (Stupid idea) and I don't even have a good excuse, so I won't make any up. I lost heaps of weight 20kg and put it all back on again plus more. Every week I say to myself, " I'm going to start low carbing again" but then I see those golden arches up the road and say, well it won't hurt if I leave it for an extra week, ahhhhh but it did. I really need to get remotivated again, and just want to say to everyone, "Good on you guys for sticking it out". Boy do I reget not sticking it out. I hate being fat. Oh yeah and RIP Dr. Atkins.

Smile Hi fellow West Aussies

Its great to see there are a few of us here!

I am still new to this and I must say that I am enjoying it
I have a big downfall in that when we socialise I cant seem to not
have a drink and although it hasnt made me gain it takes a few days for the scales to adjust and I guess it is slowing my process down but hey I have to live.
The weather has been perfect so i have been able to exercise and I am glad its not cold yet because I know that I will want to eat more when it gets cold.
Hey Crystall you will have to get back on it .
I know its hard as i seem to have been up and down for a while but I am sure that this is the answer. I felt like rock bottom when I was at my heaviest which was 83 kg and I have a photo of that on my fridge. I also have a video tape and I sit and watch it regularly and I tell you what I tell myself over and over I dont want to go back to looking like that!(anyway I cant cause I through all the bigger size clothes out)
My self esteem has improved so much since I lost the bulk of that weight and as we see here it can be done so I suggest that you make the committment and you will get all the support you need.
Good luck

Hi everyone, I'm in Swanbourne and it's pretty wild down here this afternoon.
I have been on and off since last October. Lost 5 kg and put it back on but am back on the straightish and narrow now.
I am menopausal, have back probs which is restricting my exercise at present and on estrogen. My daughter, who is a vet gave me a hug when she was home and said "Mum, don't forget, we do use estrogen to fatten cattle!!!" What hope is there??

The Low Carb pantry is good. The guy who runs it is a diabetic and very knowledgable. The flour (linseed) is VERY expensive.

I make smoothies out of plain yoghurt, frozen berries and protein powder and have one for breakfast nearly eveyr morning because they are delicious and so easy. Does anyone here make them. The Americans don't seem to be into yoghurt.

There are a few tricks I have discovered which cut the costs. Some Coles and Woollies have big health food sections which have lots of sugar free stuff - much cheaper than the health food shops. The health food shops vary incredibly in their prices - there is one in Crossways in Subiaco which is very well priced.
Don't buy Muscle Powder, Musashi or any of those expensive powders - just get plain whey protein isolate and use that. it's exactly the same stuff excerpt it's in a plastic bag and has nothing added.
Cadbury's Lite choc - which is quite hard to get is fabulous. I was quite disappointed with Darrell Lea. Ask your local small supermarket to get in some Cad. Lite.
I am sort of thinking of starting a group like Weight Watchers?? What do you reckon? Cheers. Sally
