Default I'm back from being gone awhile.

So here I am again. I gained back alot of weight! UGHH. I wont make excuses for why I went off this way of eating but...(ok here comes the excuse!) I was starting to get into alot of pain and I just couldnt focus on eating correctly!)
So to make a long story short After a 2 week hospital stay(after 4-5 months in some serious pain) I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. My question to anyone or if someone could possibly point me in the right direction is, My doctor said I would have LESS pain if I followed a modified atkins diet. When I asked him what that was he didnt have an answer for me! LOL. Does anyone here know what a MODIFIED akins diet is for a crohn's patient?

I found this link - maybe it will be helpful. Glad to hear you are back but sorry to hear you have Crohns. Huge hugs!

I didn't know Atkins was good for Crohn's disease and that is good to know. I think the best thing for you to do is to start a journal as some foods are not equal when it comes to Crohns and you. Fiber seems to sometimes be a factor so start induction and see how you tolerate the foods you eat. Any time something doesn't agree with you, scratch it off the acceptable list. Once you feel better, start up the ladder, add nuts, see how they are tolerated. Add some berries or melon. proceed with caution and soon you'll find which foods are the culprit
