Question What does a LowGI breakfast look like?

I'm just starting out on a low GI path switching over from a somewhat Atkins like way of eating. I've read most of the GI Diet and The Glycemic Revolution and I'm having a hard time figuring out what a low GI meal looks like. I understand that the green light foods are good and I'm supposed to eat them, but I'm wondering if I have to have the mix for every meal? The mix meaning 50% veggies, 25% pasta/rice and 25% meat...
For example this mornig for breakfast I had 1/2c Fiber One w/ skim milk and a nectarine. No meat, no veggies. Is this ok?
For lunch I have 7oz of tuna (the flavored kind) and a slice of whole grain sugar free bread and a yogurt (no sugar, fat free). Snack = Cherries...and dinner is supposed to be ground turkey and black eyed peas. None of my meals seem to be in mix that the GI diet book suggests...help please

Sounds good!
My typical GI breaky is:
oatmeal, lo-fat (sugar-free yogurt) and a handful of fresh (frozen) blueberries, skim milk, and coffee...............OR
a bowl of Fibre 1, skim milk, a pear and a non-fat yogurt............

sybs:
I too, was a bit confused about GI After switching from Atkins after 9 months) was soooo used to eating eggs and meat for breaky...feels like a sin to eat "cereal and milk" or oatmeal eh? But I have come around (happily) and feel a lot better for it. I keep my book handy and keep reading it as questions pop up.
Good Luck!

This morning I toasted a whole-wheat English muffin and topped each half with a fried egg (Eggland's Best). I've been full all morning with no snack, and it's almost lunch time!

I kind of miss those daily dose of eggs in the morning, always gauranteed to keep me full til lunch. Have found the oatmeal to leave me feeling a bit hungry afterwards......definately a "weird " feeling after being on Atkins so long, I NEVER had hunger pains before........just keeps me on my toes to eat more apples and other fruit...........(I guess?)

I was wondering why you guys stopped Atkins - I'm thinking I want to make some sort of move too.

I tried Atkins a few years ago and after a while all that meat cheese and eggs made me want to hurl:-) For me the G.I. Diet feels healthier.
