Unhappy Does binge affect blood test?

I have been very very good for the past month, but I had a bit of a mishap on Sunday evening. I ate some General Tao's chicken and a few bites of rice and a beer and 2 candy bars. I don't know what happened, but I did go right back on after my binge. I guess I am frustrated because I am not losing very fast at all. About 1 pound a week and this is frustrating because I am so good, read so many posts, eliminated dairy, nuts, soft drinks. I did fitday.com for over a week and my carb level was usually around 12-15/day.

I am not exercising right know due to a sciatic nerve problem.

My question is this: Monday morning, about 14 hours after my binge, I had to have a fasting cholesteral check. Did I screw the test up completely? I am going to the doctors on Friday and need to know what to expect.

thanks in advance

Hiya. I'm a lab assistant. As long as you had a good 14-hr fast, your cholesterol shouldn't have changed literally overnight. In all likelyhood, the month of being on track should have been beneficial. Good luck.

Hang in there Sarah! I had an experience similiar to yours. I just didn't lose a lot of weight during induction like most people do. I have been on Atkins for three months now and am losing faster now than I did in the beginning. Who knows why.....maybe my body was just sleepy and is now realizing what has happened! Just keep going........one pound a week is a LOT better than gaining more weight. It will come off if you hang in there! Cindi
