Default Do you use Half and Half?

What surprised me with The Schwarzbein Principle is that she does not allow half and half. And half and half is so low in carbohydrates … I’m only using 2 for my morning coffee. She says to use real cream, but what is real cream, “table cream”? And it’s impossible to find organic table cream, but I do use organic half and half. Atkins allows half and half (I think).

It is heavy whipping cream, or whipping cream a little bit gives a great taste (you can buy it organic)
I don't remember very well but It must be something about not having anything with milk.
Hope it helps

From my understanding Half & Half is just Cream + Milk (in a 50/50 ratio, hence it's name.). So it's basically watered down cream. IMO LOL

I've used both in the past, the Cream (aka Heavy Whipping Cream) is a lot creamier. You can use less of it, to get the same taste.
Heavy Cream generally has about 5 grams of fat per serving, so you can look for that on the back label.

If you have 2T in your one morning coffee, that's not a big deal. She probably says that because half and half has more carbs than cream and can be one of those things that add up. A lot of people have more than one cup of coffee and I know people who drink coffee all day long.

Thanks for the replies. The problem is I do drink coffee about 3 times a day. I think I will switch to the heavy cream...and I'm sure I will love the taste and it will make my coffee creamier.

Read the ingredients label on any heavy cream you buy. Some are just pure cream. Others have added ingredients, i.e. carbs you may not want.

We use the mini moos at work, I googled the nutritional content on it this AM as I'm trying to get in more fat. It's portion controlled which is good, and 1 g of carb per 1 little portion.

Hi Tammy,I use the Organic Valley.. and it tastes very good..
Have you tried Teeccino? it is a tea, that is very healthy and tastes very good sort of like coffee. It comes in many flavors, that way you can have less cafeine, if you are drinking coffee with caffeine. I have a friend that also likes to mix them. (coffee and teeccino)

No, never tried Teeccino -- I'll look for that at Trader Joe's. Hope they have it there. Thanks.

Trader Joe's is a great place to buy unadultered Heavy Cream at a good price.
