Question Having Problems Losing

Hi - I've done SB twice before with good results each time. However, once I stopped I gained the weight back. Now, I'm not having much luck at all and wonder if my hypothyroidism is the problem. I take synthroid every day, but a very low dose and I'm wondering if I need to take a higher dose. Has anyone had this problem?

Hi,
I have not had your thyroid issue so I can't help with that, sorry!

But what do you mean, "once I stopped"....?
I ask simply because we learn to eat a new way when we go low and controlled carb. There is no stopping and returning to our old poor eating habits.

You may need to have yout thyroid re-tested to see if your meds need adjusting.

Hello ntroj,

The good thing is that you are back to eating well!

While getting your thyroid re-tested just stick with the Beach, it'll work for ya again!

Good luck to you from one back on the wagon-er to another!

Hi, I don't know if you are open to some extraordinary advice but I'll write it anyway. I used to have low thyroids, too. Probably not as serious as yours. It was slightly under the edge of being low but it was causing a many of the symptoms like a slower metabolism than a normal person, feeling tired and having joint pains after a few minutes of walking, cold feet&hands even at summer, a pale skin and the worst was feeling depressed all the time.... So I made a lot of research about it and found some solutions to fix it as much as I could.
1-Minimize all the stress factors that you can controll.
2-Do not eat brussels sprouts, cabbage, broccoli, kale, peaches, pears, any food that have anti thyroid substances and limit the soy products at your diet..
3- Take vit A, Calcium, Megnesium and Zinc by food or by supplements
4-Eat fresh dill(a Mediterenean Herb) 3 times a day before the meals. And put it on top of every possible meal like yogurt, cucumbers, chicken etc. It helps the thyroid imbalances and increases the speed of slow metabolism caused by low thyroid levels. I tried it when I was on SBD last year and worked great.

I forgot to mention that these advices are not an alternative to medicines. I don't want anyone to misunderstand them. They are just helping the medication.
