Default Food Combining anybody?

As you can see - me and my 20 pounds are back again. I lost 7# in one week food combining and want to give it another shot. Anybody interested? If you don't know what it is... you can google it and read up on it. So interesting. I don't think I'm allowed to put urls here to places for you to read... I found them, so can you. Interesting and easy imho.

I'm on board. I've done food combining off and on through the years, but never long term. I read Fit for Life years ago and it did make a lot of sense. I like the flexibility of food combining, its something a person could do for life, also I have stomach/IBS problems and from what I remember, food combining helps with that, too. I need a refresher course though. I'll look up the book Robert suggested on that other thread. Nice to hook up with you guys.

ok, I'll look for fit for life, a new beginning. I like to keep it simple, and I remember his books did just that. Good recipes, too. Veganmomma, have you had good luck losing weight with food combining, or do you do it for other reasons? You're already so tiny, are you vegan, too? I'm trying to cut back on protein. Low carb worked for a while but then I hit a brick wall and can't lose an ounce no matter what I do. Besides, its hard to eat nothing but meat and eggs with very little veggies. I like it better the other way around.

I was over weight, had asthma and bells palsy when I first found food combining.
I didnt know about combining then
I put on weight easy, was very low.
since combining,I am now tiny, petite.I am healthier, happier, the weight not being an issue realy is the icing on the very healthy cake.
I eat more,I enjoy my food more,I am now a dancer,I am more active.
I dont put weight on anymore.I have tons of energy.
even on those days when I eat something a little naughty,my body handles it so well.
the bells palsy has completely gone, the asthma is no longer exsistant,I cannot remember the last time I took medication for either illnesses.
I am teeny now even though I am pregnant.

thus way of eating also works for my hubby and boys, they too have adjusted easy/gradually .
and they are so healthy and energyful.

I cannot think of what food combining hasnt done for us realy, its gifted us in so many ways.I am incredibley grateful to have found something that realy works.

After reading this thread, I'm very interested in reading the Fit for Life book, are there any other books you can recommend in regards to Food combining?

Eat yourself slim by Montiac.

A summary of Montiac's ideas is don't eat sugar and starches which is too easily digested. that means: don't eat white bread, pasta, danish, cake, sweets and so on. but most important: don't eat it together with fats. fats should only be eaten together with proteins and vegetables.

the other rule is: don't eat fruit just after having eaten something else. it takes 3 hours to digest normal food, and the fruit will have difficulties getting digested. eat fruit one hour before a meal or at least three hours after a meal.

eat starches with vegetables or fats with vegetables. proteins goes with either.

the good thing is that montiac loves dark chocolate (70%), cheese and wine, so the diet isn't at all boring or difficult to do.

Montiac is French and an American version of food combining is Somersizing.

Somersizing" is named coined to describe the diet plan authored by actress Suzanne Somers, well-known as Chrissy from "Threes Company". The most recent version of her diet is Suzanne Somers Get Skinny on Fabulous Foods.

Food combining was invented by Hay in the 1920's or earlier.

The Hay Diet Made Easy - A Practical Guide to Food Combining (Paperback)
by Jackie Habgood (Author) will tell you all about it.

Thanks Robert,

I've been looking for my happy place for maintaining my weight loss. I've always eaten some whole grain (oatmeal, whole grain bread, brown rice) and fruit as part of my diet which doesn't go along with most low carb plans, but as I've read the basic principles with food combining, it's very close as to how I've eaten. I never understood why I continuously lost weight some days since I was going against the low carb plans. I need to read more about food combining to understand how and why it works.
