Thus, maintaining Cbf-beta may be essential to preventing human age-associated osteoporosis that is due to elevated creation of fat cells, researchers said.

Other than the solutions they mentioned, preventing "elevated creation of fat cells." is what I thought of as a low carber solution for bone loss.

Does this mean low carbers have better bone?

They found that when this mechanism malfunctions, progenitor cells stop creating bone-producing cells, and instead create fat cells.

I wonder what caused this mechanism in the mouse bone marrow to malfunction? I think the researchers will want to know the answer to this and whether any similar mechanism exists in humans. I don't know what they will find, but either way I personally think low carb is good for the bones because it controls metabolic syndrome, eliminates many unhealthy foods and makes a person generally healthier, which I think must also be good for the bones.

Mesenchymal stem cells can produce those bone producing cells, fat cells, muscle cells, various connective tissue. Geriatric mice wound up with higher stem cell populations.

edited for uncertainty, have to read the study a bit more thoroughly.

That's good news in unscientific way .

FYI, when you eat fish, meat or chicken, make sure you eat joint and bones(some of them that can be chewed.)

My favorite is chicken tomato olive/sesame oil soup slow cook. It has everything.
