Quote from article: "Boots, Dunnes, Nature's Way and others now sell a range of Atkins foods, including snack bars, crisps, milk shake drinks, bake mix, and vitamin & mineral supplements to compensate for an essentially unbalanced diet."

Grrrrrrrrrr! The Atkins/low-carb message is STILL subject to media bias - and probably not helped by the explosion in LC products (AKA Frankenfoods), although I like to 'endulge' now and again myself!

And Santa himself might benefit from LC in order to assist his descent into the modern chimney .........

Hello Irish folks,
I'm traveling to your country next week, and have a couple of questions..
Food: what kind of foods will i find in the pubs?
I've read that your country has lots of lamb, and salmon but what else?
do you grow your agriculture?
do you grow your own beef or lamb?
will i find rib eye steak?
will i find lots of atkins friendly foods?
Is your food known to be cooked in heavy sauces?
are veggies plentiful?

I know nothing about your country except for boiled food, like corned beef and potatoes..
Is your beef roasted? baked? in sauce? do restaurants do beef on wood fire grills? or in the oven mostly?
will i find heavy foods?
do restaurants serve salads with meals?
are salads non existent in the pubs?
is it true, that beer is served warm, and not chilled?
are drinks served with ice? or do I have to request ice?

As you can see, I know NOTHING about ireland, except that it's pretty, and rainy....
anything you can offer would be wonderful.. thanks.
you can either go to my journal, or post here.
Thank you.
Lynne

there seems to be loads of Atkins food being reduced in Boots!!

Atkins vitamins and stuff like that was half price, shakes were 1 euro and those sunshine breakfast bars were reduced too.

The boots in the Ilac center also had atkins flavoured water?? Never seen this before
